Traditionally the construction industry has been slow to change.
Borgo Placemaking was founded by designer, entrepreneur, constructor, and developer Francis J. Racioppi in order to facilitate a paradigm shift in the architecture, construction, and development process.
We seek innovative solutions in planning, Building Information Modeling (BIM), sustainable alternative energy, building material composition, recycling & reuse of materials, high-tech building techniques-skills, and constructability - a project management tool to evaluate how efficiently and easily a structure may be built.
A Note From the Founder

A great influence in my life and career choice was my grandfather – builder-developer “Cesare” from Trastevere, a borgo of Rome. I share his humor, work ethic, and his unrelenting joy and excitement to construct the next building better than the previous one.
Winston Churchill’s quote, “The farther backward you can look, the farther forward you are likely to see,” speaks to my passion for the study of ancient European communities and architecture that benefits people and respects the land. This knowledge is critical, informative, and relative today as we make decisions that will affect future generations and the planet.
